Yailin Alonso Mederos joined Lewis &Associates LLP as an articling student in July 2022. She recently earned her Master of Laws (LL.M) in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Yailin is originally from Cuba; she is fluent in English and Spanish and can provide legal services in both languages. 

While in Cuba, she completed an Honours LL. B degree from the University of Havana, Cuba, where she practiced law as a judge for approximately eight years, demonstrating knowledge in Civil, Administrative, and Family Law proceedings. 

After moving to Canada, she clerked at Cartaya Law Firm, a Family Law Firm in downtown Toronto. 

As an immigrant herself and having experienced the intricacies of the immigration process, she seeks to become an immigration lawyer to help others smoothly navigate this path. 

Yailin is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association and Hispanic Bar Association.

Outside the office, Yailin enjoys traveling, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends
